1938

Keith Sandling Hopkinson (KSH) was involved in building the Goderich Sky Harbour Airport in Goderich, Ontario.

1940 – 1944

KSH was the Chief Ground School Instructor for the #12 British Elementary Flying Training School (EFTS) in Goderich, Ontario training allied pilots during World War II.

1947

KSH started Sky Harbour Air Services, offering Sales, Maintenance, Paint, and Charter services.

1952

Founding Director of COPA (Canadian Owners and Pilots Association)

1953

With Paul Poberezny started EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) in Canada.

1955

KSH built and had the Canadian government certify the first licenses homebuilt airplane in Canada.  A modified Stits SA-3A Playboy which won several U.S. awards.  It is currently in the collection of the Canadian Aviation Museum.

1956

Started the Ultralight Aircraft Association where he became President.

1961
KSH purchased the Goderich airport from Huron County. Cessna dealer for Southwestern Ontario
1964

John Hopkinson takes over after death of his father, KSH.

1981

JH incorporated John Hopkinson & Associates Ltd. and moved west to Calgary to continue aircraft sales.

1985

Returned to Goderich to run Business Air Services and Sky Harbour Refinishing.

1988

Sold Business Air Services and Sky Harbour Refinishing to employees.

Returned to Calgary to ramp up John Hopkinson & Associates Ltd..

1989

Christina Hopkinson joins the Company.

2008

Andrew Hopkinson starts working in the company.

2011

Keith Hopkinson starts working in the company.

2015

Andrew Hopkinson is named President.

DBA “Hopkinson Aircraft Sales”

Opened Scottsdale Office.

2017

Moved into New Facility on Scottsdale Airport.

2018

Moved into new Facility at Calgary International Airport

Meet the Founder

John Hopkinson

Our story begins with our Founder John Hopkinson. John started his career in aviation in 1959 and quickly became a well-known name in the industry internationally. John’s reputation as a successful negotiator, appraiser and visionary service provider was passed down to his sons who now run Hopkinson Aircraft Sales today. John has trained each member of the team to ensure they absorbed his highly varied international experience to ensure focused support for any aircraft-related need. Our team is dedicated and strives to ensure that this legacy is carried forward today. Below are the expert minds that keep Hopkinson as a force today in the modern marketplace.

John Hopkinson

Chairman

Since 1979, John has been an independent aircraft broker and consultant, specializing in corporate and commuter type aircraft, with an emphasis on North American and International markets. Excellent transportation and communications facilities in Calgary allowed Hopkinson Aircraft Sales to buy and sell aircraft from Calgary, Alberta on an international level. Projects have been carried out and completed across Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia, and Central and South America. John has overseen transactions with most of the major airframe manufacturers, as well as many major corporations in Canada.

Andrew Hopkinson

President

Andrew Hopkinson works with our clients on acquisitions and sales of new and pre-owned aircraft. He also specializes in the establishment of flight departments and management company placement. Although not limited in scope, his focus has been on corporate jets and turboprop aircraft. He has been particularly active in the jet segment, acquiring and selling many Bombardier, Falcon, and Gulfstream type aircraft over the years. He has represented high net worth individuals and Fortune companies from all over the world with a particularly strong focus in Canada and the Western United States. In his free time he enjoys golf, mountain biking, and spending time with his wife and three little boys, Jack and William.

Keith Hopkinson

Vice President

Keith Hopkinson specializes in commercial and commuter type aircraft as well as all turboprop aircraft. He has been active in many transactions involving jet aircraft as well and assists in flight department consultation and turnkey management solutions. He leads our commercial aircraft division and has overseen many fleet dispositions and acquisitions. Although not limited, he has had particular experience in the ATR, Beech 1900, Dash 8, Saab 340, and King Air markets. Keith is an expert in dealing with the logistics of inspections, pre-purchases, and imports of foreign and domestic commercially registered aircraft. He has transacted deals on most continents, and in many cases, areas with little support. He brings a strong technical understanding of these types and simplifies the process for our clients. Keith is also a private pilot and is currently working on his multi-engine and IFR endorsement.

Christina Hopkinson

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Christina Hopkinson has been the CFO at Hopkinson Aircraft Sales For 37 years. Since meeting John All those years ago, Aviation has been an integral part of her life. She works with both of her sons, Andrew and Keith, and is a grandmother of two sweet grandchildren, which keeps her very busy. Her motto is “There is not an issue that cannot be resolved”. Never liking to leave anything unfinished, she recently completed her Interior Design Certificate. When she is not at the office, she can be found in her garden or cooking, two of her favourite things.

Nicole Hopkinson

Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

Nicole obtained her Business Marketing degree from Arizona State University. She has worked in several aspects of the marketing and advertising industry over the past 15 years. As Hopkinson Aircraft Sales’ Chief Marketing Officer, she oversees the management of our website, social media, and marketing campaigns. Nicole also executes the advertising on all listings. When she is not working, she enjoys photography, tennis, and spending time with her three little boys and husband.

Letricia Croft​

Contracts Specialist​

Letricia has worked for Hopkinson Aircraft Sales as Contracts Specialist since 2010. With her business and accounting background, along with diverse experience in the private sector, the transition into the management of legal agreements was a natural fit. Over the years, she has worked with several large-scale oil and gas firms, and with those roles and with her role at Hopkinson’s has worked with various levels of government, both in Canada and abroad. A woman of many interests, Letricia holds a Business Administration diploma, as well as a Criminology Diploma, and also continued her education to receive the Canadian Association of Petroleum Production Accountants (CAPPA) Certificate in 2006.

Sean Windle​

Sales Associate​

Sean Windle is a sales associate and industry insider with Hopkinson Aircraft Sales. Sean believes in ensuring owners get into the right airplane the first time. His aviation career began in 2002 and he has been involved in many sectors of the industry. From teaching pilots to corporate jets, to sales. “Early on in my career, I was helping pilots learn how to fly their own airplanes. I’ve always been interested in the personal and corporate aspect of aviation.” Sean currently holds a valid ATPL while flying and managing a privately-owned large-cabin jet. When he isn’t travelling around the world, you will find him spending time with his family or out on the golf course.

Richard Campbell​

Sales Associate

Richard Campbell has over 25 years of corporate sales experience. His attention to detail gives him a deep understanding of his customer’s needs. He delivers unparalleled customer service to his clients. He lives by the motto—Opportunities don’t happen, you create them. Richard loves traveling around the world and finding new places to explore. An outdoorsman, he enjoys hiking and is an avid golfer.

Dona David

Office Manager/Sales Coordinator

Dona has been with Hopkinson Aircraft Sales since 2008. Before joining Hopkinson Aircraft Sales, she operated a Ranch for 20 years. Dona has worn many hats over the past 15 years, including Office Management, Advertising and Prospect Management. She currently spends most of her time in Accounting. When she is not working at Hopkinson Aircraft Sales, she enjoys maintaining her property and follows the World Professional Chuckwagon Association Circuit, helping her two Sons, who are Professional Chuckwagon Competitors.

Noel Wallace

Researcher

Noel started flying lessons at age 16 and obtained his Commercial Pilot’s License later at age 18 and spent several years flying pipeline patrols, corporate charters and medivacs accumulating 6300 hrs of flying experience in Western Canada. Later he combined an interest in radio broadcasting and flying and spent several years as a Calgary Traffic Reporter/Pilot with several Calgary radio stations using the on-air handle Commander Cody. In the most recent years Noel has been involved with a couple of local Calgary Air Charter companies in the capacity of sales and charter operations.

Vlad Tiulchenko

Research Analyst

Vlad works as a Research Analyst for Hopkinson Aircraft Sales and is originally from Ukraine. He is a private pilot and working to become a commercial ferry pilot, transporting planes to and from Europe. For several years he served as cabin crew throughout Ukraine, Poland and Hungary and is passionate about all things aviation. When he is not working, he enjoys training for triathlon races and collecting coins and religious icons.

Matthew Woodland

Sales Associate​

Matthew Woodland is a sales associate with a passion for aviation and a deep dedication to extraordinary customer satisfaction. He has had a lifelong love of the luxury car and private aviation worlds and has had the opportunity to work in both fields. Matthew has great knowledge of and expertise in planes from the wheels up. His work in exotic and luxury cars and elite private aircrafts has helped him to build a solid network of contacts and connections and a unique understanding of the needs of the buyer and seller. He is known for his willingness to go far above and beyond to truly understand the needs of the client and to then ensure the client is more than satisfied.
